SECAP Serbia Workshops
On 29–30 January 2024, I coordinated four online workshops supporting the preparation of Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans (SECAPs) in Serbia. Each session focused on one city, combining a review of the preparation timeline with practical work on its technical action sheets.
My role as Country Team Leader was to connect the work of municipal representatives and technical experts, guide the discussion and help clarify the information needed to develop actionable measures.
From proposed measures to implementation
The sessions focused on how individual actions are documented: their purpose, responsible institutions, implementation timeframe and expected contribution to local climate and energy objectives.
The technical sheets provided a common structure for discussing measures and their estimated impacts, including energy savings and emissions reductions. This helped keep the conversations focused on the practical requirements of implementation alongside the wider planning process.
Four city-focused sessions
All workshops took place via Zoom:
Novi Sad — 29 January, 10:00–11:00: SECAP preparation timeline and technical action sheets.
Pirot — 29 January, 11:00–12:00: SECAP preparation timeline and technical action sheets.
Valjevo — 30 January, 10:00–11:00: SECAP preparation timeline and technical action sheets.
Vranje — 30 January, 11:00–12:00: SECAP preparation timeline and technical action sheets.
Coordination that supports delivery
Effective climate and energy planning requires sustained cooperation between local teams and specialists. My contribution centred on facilitating that cooperation, supporting a consistent approach across the four cities and keeping technical preparation connected to each city’s implementation needs.
