Marine Biodiversity Conservation Center “Boka Aquarium” (MonteAqua)

Setting up Marine Biodiversity Conservation Center “Boka Aquarium” in the Institute of Marine Biology in Kotor
Setting up freshwater “Skadar Aquarium” in National Park “Skadar lake”

Sustainable Use of Transboundary Water Resources and Water Security Management (WATER SUM)

As Project Director, I provided overall quality control of the project, supervision of the Project Manager and team members, monitoring of the progress of the project activities and coordination of information flow between the project team, beneficiaries and the donor. Water SUM project addresses water-related challenges and promotes regional cooperation in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) through two project components: Water Resources Management Good Practices and Knowledge Transfer (WATER POrT); and Water Security in Local Communities (WaSe).
Setting up Environmental Management Center (EMC) in Serbia
October 2010 – May 2013
I edited International Science Conference “Reporting for Sustainability” proceedings. Besides that publication, the main EMC project outputs are the established Environmental Management Center within Serbian Agency for Environmental Protection (SEPA) including necessary computer hardware and software, training of personnel, introducing efficient and sound routines and practices. EMC project worked directly with governmental institutions and 10 selected large industrial client-partners from various industrial sectors across Serbia: petrochemical industry, agricultural sector, railways, rubber manufacturing, coal production and processing, steel production and processing, copper mining and smelting, as well as public utility providing district heating.
February 2009 - December 2011
On this project, with my team members, we succeeded to promote a comprehensive and integrated approach to biodiversity and ecosystem services for the sustainable development of rural municipalities and their local communities in Southeastern Europe, as part of an effort to reduce the downward spiral of poverty, biodiversity loss and environmental degradation to increase overall human well-being within the wider context of ensuring regional peace and stability. I edited development of Local Biodiversity Action Planning (LBAP) methodology.
Structure and dynamics of aquatic ecosystems of different trophic levels
January 1996 - December 2000
As a research team member, I contributed to hydrobiological (limnological) research of Vlasina reservoir (Serbia). My research was focused on floristical composition of algae and seasonal and spatial dynamics of phytoplankton in Vlasina reservoir.
