Professional network

While working in progressively senior levels of responsibility at universities and international environmental organizations I had unique opportunity to serve various clients, ranging from governmental institutions, academia, non-governmental organizations and business.

While working in the Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe I had unique opportunity to cooperate with Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) on various programmes: supporting environmental civil society organizations, equipping local communities with powerful tools and skills for environmental action planning, water management and local water security action planning, etc.

With European Centre for Nature Conservation (ECNC) I’ve worked on development methodology for local biodiversity action planning. Communities that used methodology become champions of change for sustainability in beneficiary countries and the region, providing an opportunity for other communities to replicate their work and ecosystem services experience, including combating effects of climate change.

For several years I’ve worked with Emisoft on establishing of Environmental Management Centres (EMC) in Balkan countries. In Serbia, our work resulted in setting up an efficient emission monitoring and reporting platform within Serbian Agency for Environmental Protection (SEPA).

My professional network also includes Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). Within the GIZ-commissioned project Development of Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans for Selected Local Self-government Units in the Western Balkans, I led the country expert team Serbia supporting the preparation of Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans (SECAPs), coordinating expert contributions to local energy and climate action planning.

I was in touch with Radoje several times during my professional careers. Back in 2002, as Regional Manager for Eastern Europe in American Quality and Environmental Group (AQE Group) I enjoyed communication with him while he was a trainee ISO 14000. I know Radoje for quite some time. He was my teaching assistant during my study at the Faculty of Biology. Then we cooperated when I was working for Sida - he was a regional director of REC and this organization implemented project of Swedish support to environmental civil society organizations in the WB region. Most recently, I had the pleasure of working with Radoje during the implementation of the Marine Biodiversity Conservation Center 'Boka Aquarium' (MonteAqua) project, funded by the Norwegian Embassy in Belgrade and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Montenegro. As project manager, Radoje demonstrated strong leadership, ensuring achieving the agreed objectives. Under this project, the first public aquarium in Montenegro was established, along with a rescue center for endangered marine animals, contributing to both biodiversity conservation and tourism development. Radoje has excellent coordination and communication skills, and he was instrumental in attracting other donors to join the effort of creating larger and lasting impact. I highly recommend Radoje for any future environmental and marine conservation endeavors.
