Connecting Evidence with Decisions

Services

  • Biodiversity and water management assessments

  • Stakeholder mapping and participatory planning

  • Policy recommendations and monitoring approaches

Experience & approach

My work connects an academic background in biology with applied environmental research and policy support. I have contributed to initiatives addressing biodiversity, water resources, environmental security and participatory planning, combining scientific evidence with institutional knowledge and community priorities.

Through the Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe, I worked on environmental action planning, water management and local water security initiatives, including programmes supported by Sida. Cooperation with the European Centre for Nature Conservation (ECNC) included developing a methodology for local biodiversity action planning.

My current work within REDEEM applies an integrated water–energy–food–ecosystems perspective to climate risks and rural development. Shaping Local Climate Action

Services

  • Coordination of Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans

  • Stakeholder engagement and municipal capacity building

  • Mitigation and adaptation measures and monitoring arrangements

Experience & approach

As Country Team Leader for Serbia within the SECAP project, I coordinated support for local energy and climate planning. My work put together municipal teams, technical experts and stakeholders to strengthen planning capacity and connect local priorities with climate mitigation and adaptation objectives.

I helped authorities to organise the planning process, coordinated technical inputs and developed measures with clear responsibilities and monitoring arrangements. Stakeholder participation was central to that approach: effective plans need both sound evidence and the involvement of the institutions and communities responsible for implementation.

My work within REDEEM complements this experience by addressing climate resilience through the water–energy–food–ecosystems nexus. It is also including methodological work on carbon footprint monitoring for project activities and an irrigation pilot.

Together, these assignments support an integrated approach to local climate action, resource efficiency and resilience.
