Sustainable Food


Many of today´s food production systems compromise the capacity of Earth to produce food in the future. Sustainable Development Goal 12 is to Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns with one of the targets related to food: By 2030, halve per capita global food waste at the retail and consumer levels and reduce food losses along production and supply chains, including post-harvest losses. EU 7th Environment Action Programme points on resource-efficient economy: "Doing more with less", with cutting food waste as one of the conditions that will help transform the EU into a resource-efficient, low-carbon economy.
