Photographs from the workshop “Sustainable Fisheries – The Fight Against Illegal Fishing”, held at the Institute of Marine Biology in Kotor, Montenegro, on 12 June 2018, within the MonteAqua project.
The programme connected Slovenian, EU and Montenegrin perspectives on sustainable fisheries and the fight against illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing. Sessions addressed monitoring and inspection, the use of scientific data in fisheries management, and measures to combat illegal fishing in Montenegro.
As MonteAqua Project Manager, my contribution included presenting the project and introducing the 9mCollab platform. The gallery documents an exchange of scientific expertise and policy and inspection experience focused on the responsible management of marine resources.
