On 15 February 2018, I participated as MonteAqua Project Manager in the workshop on invasive and allien species at the Institute of Marine Biology in Kotor, Montenegro.
I presented the MonteAqua project and the 9mCollab platform, introducing the project’s objectives and a digital resource for collaboration and knowledge exchange.
The workshop brought together researchers and environmental authorities to discuss invasive species in marine and freshwater ecosystems, monitoring methods and the implementation of relevant legislation. Contributions included Croatia’s experience with EU requirements, Montenegro’s proposed legal framework and the use of local ecological knowledge to monitor newly recorded species.
